Chris (Caoshi) Zhou is a stage designer currently pursuing an MFA in Stage Design at Northwestern University, following a bachelor's degree in Environmental Design from the Communication University of China.

His practice explores the relationship between space, image, and the performing body, investigating scenography as an active narrative medium rather than merely a setting for performance. Working across stage design, projection, installation, and spatial storytelling, he creates theatrical experiences that integrate visual media, architecture, and performance.

Previously, Chris worked as an Assistant Stage Manager at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (China). He also contributed as a Concept Designer to Thermal Atlas, a VR art project supported by Arts Council England, developing visual narratives and creative concepts throughout its research and production process.

His works have been presented at venues and festivals including Lao She Theatre, Drum Tower West Theatre, Prism Theatre Festival, and Nanjing Youth Theatre Festival. His practice combines conceptual thinking with technical realization, spanning the complete design process from research and concept development to visualization, model making, and production.
